Correction and update, 28 October 2026: An earlier version assigned these cruise brands to the wrong parent companies and included unreliable ship counts and undated itinerary claims. This revised guide separates dated corporate history from the ownership information checked for this update. It profiles five brands rather than ranking five bookable departures.

A luxury cruise label is a starting point for research, not a guarantee that a particular sailing includes every drink, excursion or service. Choose a ship, departure date and fare category before comparing offers.

Crystal

Crystal’s official history states that A&K Travel Group acquired the Crystal brand in 2022 and refurbished and relaunched Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. Its contemporary operation should not be attributed to Royal Caribbean. The acquisition concerned the brand and these vessels; this guide does not imply that the purchaser assumed every liability of the former Crystal business.

For a proposed voyage, use Crystal’s current sailing programme and fare details. The old claim that its fleet consisted of five ships is withdrawn, rather than replacing it with an undated count that could soon become stale.

Silversea

Royal Caribbean Group announced on 10 July 2020 that it had acquired the remaining interest in Silversea, following its initial investment in 2018. That dated transaction establishes the error in this article’s earlier attribution to Norwegian Cruise Line. Silversea’s current company page continues to identify it with Royal Caribbean Group.

Silversea offers both conventional ocean and expedition cruising. Compare the actual ship and destination when booking; the previous statement that the line had only two ships, including a vessel called “Silversun”, is not retained.

MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises belongs to the privately owned MSC Group. MSC Group’s official corporate history includes the development of its cruise business. The original guide’s attribution to Carnival Corporation was incorrect.

Fare inclusions need checking for the relevant market and offer. For example, MSC’s published FAQ distinguishes drinks packages and chargeable services. A general statement that every cruise is all-inclusive would hide these differences.

Oceania Cruises

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings lists Oceania Cruises among its brands, alongside Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Oceania should therefore not be described as a Carnival Corporation brand. The group describes Oceania’s positioning around cuisine and destinations.

Use the line’s current programme for itineraries, age policies and onboard inclusions. The earlier guide’s generic descriptions of large ships and selected destinations are not a substitute for the terms of an identified voyage.

Azamara

Royal Caribbean Group completed the sale of Azamara to Sycamore Partners on 19 March 2021. Sycamore’s current investment portfolio, checked for this update, lists Azamara. These sources do not support the earlier claim that the brand belongs to Carnival Corporation.

This guide does not repeat the unsupported five-ship fleet count or promise that a particular seven-day route is currently offered. Look up the chosen departure directly with Azamara before making plans.

Choosing a Luxury Cruise

Compare the itinerary, port time, cabin category, cancellation conditions and the items included in the quoted fare. Check separately for flights, transfers, drinks, shore excursions, internet and service charges. Record the booking market and the date of the offer so that apparently similar prices are being compared on the same basis.

Corporate affiliations above were checked on 28 October 2026. The named acquisition dates describe specific historical announcements; they are not presented as the publication date of every current company page.
