Passengers hailing from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, on their way to the national capital, faced severe traffic at several border crossings as the Delhi Police intensified vehicle checking and it led to a domino effect. This measure was undertaken in view of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march by farmers from Punjab against the Centre’s farm laws.

Senior police officials stated that forces were deployed on the Faridabad, Singhu and Gurgaon border crossings and vehicle checking was intensified as a precautionary measure, pertaining to the protest. Farmers from Punjab were slated to reach Delhi through 5 highways connecting the city, as a part of their march.
