About the hotel

Hotel Sacher Vienna is at Philharmoniker Strasse 4 in Vienna’s first district. The official site dates its opening to 1876. Wikipedia records that it was founded that year as a maison meublée by the restaurateur Eduard Sacher and that the Gürtler family took over the business in 1934. The official site names Alexandra Winkler as co-owner and Andreas Keese as General Manager.

The hotel has 152 individually designed rooms and suites, which the official site credits to Alexandra Winkler working with the French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. It contains the restaurants Rote Bar and Grüne Bar, the Blaue Bar, Café Sacher Vienna, Café Bel Étage and Salon Sacher, together with the Sacher Boutique Spa, a fitness room, a shop and function rooms including the Marble Hall. According to Wikipedia, a further floor with a spa was added in 2005/06.
