About the hotel
HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO stands beside Nijo-jo Castle in Nakagyo-ku, about three minutes on foot from Nijojo-mae Station. The site of 7,459 square metres was home for more than 250 years to the Kyoto residence of the Kitake, the executive branch of the Mitsui family. The hotel opened on 3 November 2020 and is operated by Mitsui Fudosan Resort Management Co., Ltd. The Mitsui Fudosan Group describes it as the flagship of its hotel brand.
The hotel has 160 guestrooms of 43 to 213 square metres. It contains the restaurants TOKI, with 44 seats, and FORNI, with 105 seats, THE GARDEN BAR and SHIKI-NO-MA. The Thermal Spring SPA uses natural spring water drawn on site and has a spring pool, two private onsen rooms, four treatment rooms and a gym. The restored Kajiimiya Gate stands at the entrance.
