About the hotel
Palacio Nazarenas, A Belmond Hotel, is on Plazoleta Nazarenas in Cusco. According to Belmond, the building began as a private palace associated in the 1500s with Mancio Serra de Leguizamón; in 1644 Jesuits made it a college, and it later became a convent. It opened as a hotel in 2012 after restoration by the company then called Orient-Express Hotels, which took the name Belmond in 2014. Belmond is part of LVMH.
The hotel has 55 suites, including two signature suites. Belmond states that all suites are oxygen-enriched to help guests acclimatise to the altitude. The restaurant, Mauka, is led by chef Pía León, and Senzo Bar serves small plates and pisco cocktails. Facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, Hypnôze Spa, a chapel, a library, a garden, a boutique and four event spaces.
