About the hotel
Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, is at Km 51 of the Cancún to Tulum highway on the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo. According to Wikipedia, it was built by the Mexico City architect José Luis Moreno, opened in 1995 and was acquired in 2002 by Orient-Express Hotels, the company renamed Belmond in 2014. Belmond has been part of LVMH since April 2019, per Wikipedia.
The resort reopened in August 2023 after a renovation and a redesign that the official site credits to the interior architect Tara Bernerd; Wikipedia says ten beachfront suites were added. The official site now lists 19 rooms, 50 suites and 3 villas, 72 keys in total. It contains the restaurants Casa Mayor and Woodend by Curtis Stone, the bars Bambuco and Freddy’s Beach Bar, a Guerlain spa, three outdoor pools, a fitness centre, a kids’ club and nine event venues.
