About the hotel
The Connaught is on Carlos Place in Mayfair, London. According to Wikipedia, a hotel first opened on the site in 1815 as the Prince of Saxe-Coburg Hotel; the present building, designed by Lewis Isaacs and Henry L. Florence, was built between 1894 and 1896 and reopened in 1897. It is Grade II listed. The hotel is part of Maybourne, whose other properties include Claridge’s, The Berkeley and The Emory in London.
Wikipedia states that the hotel is owned and managed by the Maybourne Hotel Group, that the group’s ownership passed to the Qatari royal family, and that the hotel closed in March 2007 for a £70 million restoration led by the designer Guy Oliver. The official site lists the restaurant Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, described as holding three Michelin stars, The Connaught Grill, The Connaught Bar, an Aman Spa with an indoor swimming pool, and private event spaces.
