About the hotel
Aman New York occupies the Crown Building at 730 Fifth Avenue, on the corner of 57th Street in Manhattan. The official site dates the building to 1921 and notes that it was the first home of the Museum of Modern Art. Wikipedia records that it was designed by Charles D. Wetmore of Warren and Wetmore, has 25 storeys and was designated a New York City landmark in 2024.
According to Wikipedia, OKO Group, the company of Vladislav Doronin, converted the upper storeys into 83 hotel suites and 22 residences, and the hotel opened on 11 August 2022. The official site credits the design to Jean-Michel Gathy. The hotel contains the restaurants Arva and Akari, a Lounge Bar, a Garden Terrace, a Jazz Club and a spa of more than 2,300 square metres across three floors with a swimming pool.
