About the hotel
The Okura Tokyo stands at Toranomon in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is the flagship of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1958 and opened the original Hotel Okura Tokyo in 1962. That hotel closed in August 2015 for rebuilding and reopened under its present name on 12 September 2019. The Okura Museum of Art, founded in 1917, shares the site.
The hotel has 508 rooms in two buildings: 368 in the 41-storey Okura Prestige Tower and 140 in the 17-storey Okura Heritage Wing. Yoshio Taniguchi designed both lobbies; his father, Yoshiro Taniguchi, designed the lobby of the 1962 building. Restaurants include Yamazato, Nouvelle Epoque, Toh-Ka-Lin, Sazanka and Orchid, with the Orchid Bar and Starlight lounge. Okura Fitness & Spa, on the 26th and 27th floors of the tower, has a 25 m pool. Banquet space includes the Heian Room. The Okura Garden covers about 13,000 sq m.
