Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis has opened as the brand’s first hotel in Missouri. The 142-room property occupies a historic downtown building.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening on 19 October 2026. The property is at 1501 Washington Avenue, in a building originally constructed in 1910 as the headquarters of Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Company.

A historic address for Hyatt Centric

The eleven-storey building reflects Washington Avenue’s industrial heritage, with ornamental details and Art Nouveau influences. Inside, guestrooms combine contemporary furnishings with high ceilings, large windows and city views.

The location puts the hotel within reach of attractions and business venues including the Gateway Arch, City Museum, Busch Stadium and America’s Center Convention Complex.

Dining, rooftop leisure and events

The Link, the lobby restaurant and bar, serves New American food with locally sourced ingredients. Other options include the Lobby Bar and Provisions, a 24-hour grab-and-go market.

Expedition provides a seasonal rooftop bar and pool, with food, cocktails and downtown views during the warmer months.

The hotel also offers approximately 11,750 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom accommodating more than 200 guests. A 24-hour fitness centre and pet-friendly accommodation complete the facilities outlined by Hyatt.

Extending the brand’s urban reach

Hotel Dive places the Missouri debut within Hyatt Centric’s expansion into US city markets, following the brand’s first Ohio property in Cincinnati and its Santa Monica opening.

General manager Bill Tirone said the St. Louis hotel is intended to connect guests with the city’s history and neighbourhood experiences.
