About the hotel
Il San Pietro di Positano is on Via Laurito, on the Amalfi Coast outside the centre of Positano. It was opened in 1970 by Carlino Cinque, who had opened the Hotel Miramare in Positano in 1934. The hotel marked its 55th anniversary on 29 June 2025. It is co-owned by the brothers Carlo and Vito Cinque, great-nephews of the founder, and the operating company is San Pietro S.p.A. It has been a Relais & Châteaux member since 1988.
The hotel has 55 rooms and suites, each with a terrace and sea view, and about 200 staff. Zass is the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant under chef Alois Vanlangenaeker, and Carlino is a restaurant by the sea. A lift cut into the rock leads to a private beach. There is also a seaside tennis court, a freshwater pool, a spa and a boat shuttle to Positano.
