About the hotel
Park Hyatt Kyoto is in Kodaiji Masuyacho in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto. Hyatt announced its opening on 30 October 2019. According to that announcement, the owners are Kyoyamato, the kaiseki restaurant that shares the site, and Takenaka Corporation. Takenaka, a Japanese architecture, engineering and construction firm, developed the design with the interior design practice Tony Chi and Associates.
The hotel has 70 guest rooms, nine of which are suites. Its own venues are Kyoto Bistro, The Living Room, the teppanyaki restaurant Yasaka and the bar Kohaku; Kyoyamato, with its Soyotei and Koroan teahouses, operates alongside. The spa, which the opening release said was for hotel guests only, has a treatment suite and a bath house with Japanese-style tubs and saunas. Event space includes a ballroom of about 200 sq m with a show kitchen.
