THoD Newsdesk, Uttar Pradesh: Tourists and devotees visiting Ayodhya will now have a chance to board the ‘Ramayan Cruise’ on River Saryu, which would offer glimpses of popular ghats in the city and a revisit of the legendary epic. The state government is planning to launch this luxury boat service which will be the first-ever luxury cruise facility on the Saryu River (Ghagra/National Waterways-40) in Uttar Pradesh. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, today chaired a review meeting for the implementation of this service, which is slated to be a major boost for tourism in the state.

Features of the Ramayan Cruise Tour
- The cruise will have the capacity to accommodate 80 travellers and will cover a distance of 15-16 km on the Sarayu river
- It will come with all kinds of luxuries, inclusive of a pantry and kitchen, along with high-tech safety and security features
- The interiors of the cruise will be designed according to the descriptions in the Ramcharitmanas
- Large glass panels on the cruise will give way to the scenic beauty of the Sarayu ghats
- The cruise will be environment-friendly with hybrid engines and bio-toilet
Additionally, during the cruise, an exclusively shot feature film of 45 to 60 minutes will be shown to the devotees based on Goswami Tulsidas’s ‘Ramcharitmanas’. The play will cover the period of Lord Rama’s birth to his Rajyaabhishek (throning ceremony at Ayodha). The cruise will also be equipped with selfie points and several other activities, that revolve around the theme of Ramayan. The tour will end with aarti at the ghats where the members will be able to participate.
The UP government has proclaimed high-scale infrastructure works in the temple town, ranging from doubling of the railway line, modern sewage treatment plants to building an international airport. The project will even help attract large hordes of tourists and generate direct and indirect employment opportunities in the area.
