THoD Newsdesk, UK: In a show of true sportsmanship on Monday, fast-food chain Burger King appealed to its customers in the UK to order from its competitors, including their rival brand, McDonald’s. Burger King shared a post on their official social media handles and as soon as the reason was revealed, the brand was showered with praises and attention. Along with a heart-warming note, their official statement read, “We know, we never thought we’d be saying this either.”

The company’s UK arm asked their patrons to support local fast food outlets during the second major lockdown, which has been imposed in the country to arrest the pandemic. The new restrictions translate to restaurants and bars being forced to keep dine-in services barred until the commencement of December. The supportive gesture extended to KFC, Subway, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Domino’s Pizza, amidst others as well.
During such testing times, Burger King’s post came as a ray of positivity, especially so when the food and hospitality businesses around the globe are facing severe crises simultaneously while adapting to the ‘new normal’ standards. However, it also is to be remembered that local businesses around us have received major lashes too and they require much more support than the global brands.
