THoD Newsdesk, India: On Tuesday, Wipro stated its decision to take over the information technology units of Metro AG, Metro-NOM GMBH in Germany and Metro Systems Romania SRL, which will ensure the transfer of over 1,300 employees across Germany, Romania and India to Wipro.
Metro is a prominent wholesale company with its footprints in the global sector, with food and non-food assortments, specialising in serving needs of hotels, restaurants and caterers as well as individual traders. The approximate deal value for the duration of the first 5 years is pegged at $700 million. In a bid to extend up to 4 additional years, it can be a potential spend of up to $1 billion, Wipro said.
