THoD Newsdesk, New Delhi: The Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel, conducted a review meeting of the ‘Adopt a Heritage: Apni Dharohar, Apni Pehchaan’ project in Delhi. The meeting encompassed a detailed presentation, which talked about the present status and progress at several monuments, including Delhi’s Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Safdarjung Tomb, and Jantar Mantar, among others.
Patel focused on each project’s timely conclusion, and he also directed the officials to review the proposed facilities under the Memorandum of Understandings, in discussion with the nodal departments.
Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism; Meenakshi Sharma, Director General, Ministry of Tourism; Sanjukta Mudgal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture; Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism; and representatives of Archaeological Survey of India were in attendance at the conference.
Hailing ‘Adopt a Heritage’ as a well-conceived venture, Patel stated that by leveraging CSR, this project would assist in offering the basic amenities such as cleanliness, safe drinking water, light, and sounds in the lesser-known establishments.
During the initial phase of the year, the Ministry of Tourism intended to revive this almost-four-year-old venture, but the pandemic’s outbreak halted the further steps.
